Maru Koala and Animal Park is one of those places that allows you to get up real close to the animals - so close in fact you can touch and feed a couple of friendly ones! You can purchase your roo food as you enter and it will be the highlight of the day (so long as your little one knows the difference between the wallaby's mouth and nose!). This one is perfect for the little tackers - that might not have the concentration span or the ability to walk around a huge zoo for the day, let alone spot the beautifully camouflaged birds at the back of an enclosure. Maru is intimate and has a great layout allowing you and the fam to do laps of the boardwalks, weave through to see some wombats and head out into the Kangaroo Country to feed a roo or two! There are Animal Keeper presentations throughout the day on school holidays and weekends, and on every other day most of the action and presentations take place in the afternoon. The park is the perfect place to spend the day with mini golf out the front as well as a bistro and a kids play area (perfect for a little Mamma respite!).
Mamma's special mention: Mamma chose to visit on the way home from our Phillip Island escape and it is a great place to stop and break up the road trip no matter which way you are travelling.
