Mamma LOVED heading out on school camp. The excitement of being away from home but also being out in the bush and challenging yourself on the high ropes courses. You can now experience the thrills of being in the treetops with the whole family. A short day trip to Kinglake West in Melbourne's north-east will get you right in the action. Kinglake Forest Adventures is a school camp mid week and a family fun land come the weekend and school holidays.
The recreational wonderland is set up for adventure with the tree tops ropes course being the main attraction. Don a harness and a hard hat and manoeuvre your way through free fall drops, ladder climbs, floating rings and zoom along the zip lines. It sure is an activity for the brave! Although some five year olds might just love it all, the experts tell Mamma the 8 years olds do best.
If staying ground level is more your style, the bike trails could be more suitable. The team have mountain bikes for hire - or bring your own - and tear up the trails. The little kids have their own little pump track too and balance bikes to borrow. When all is over, chill out in the fairy garden or have a snooze in a hammock.
Mamma's special mention: Don't be put off by the crazy long and rocky road into the centre, you will get there in the end!
