Playgrounds are a Mamma's lifesaver - especially if you are on the road and that toddler just needs space to RUN! San Remo was our stop spot and there are two playgrounds here. One is at the front beach - near the pelicans who are fed daily at 12 - at the other (Mamma's pick) is located at the back beach. This beach spot is known as 'children's beach' as it is quite sheltered and the water is nice and shallow (although this was not tested as we were visiting in a cold snap - lucky us). We did however, give the playground a nice work out after our morning in the sand. Mamma just loves how each local park has its own personality. The equipment is your standard playground variety, but with hints of the ocean - dolphin seesaw, pelican rocking horse and Mamma's fav - a surfboard wobbleboard! The park is pretty toddler friendly with access for crawlers to the slide, plus there is a bbq and toilets - great for a break from the car!
Mamma's special mention: Porter Republic is back on the main strip of shops and is the most kid friendly spot in the area. Mamma highly recommends it!
