Farmers markets are always filled with charm. Small, local businesses, selling their produce from under the shade of a pop up marquee. You can't get fresher or more hearty than that. Lilydale Farmers Market is run by The Rotary Club of Lilydale and is setup at Bellbird Park on Swansea Road (that is NEXT DOOR to Lillydale Lake). You will know it is on by the yellow signs that pop up out of nowhere on the first Sunday of the month, pointing you in the direction of the lake. Each time Mamma visits she stocks up on strawberries, grabs some scones for lunch and will never pass up on a cupcake! The kids will be surprised to count all the colours in the veggies and might even get a chance to jump on a jumping castle OR visit the petting zoo.
Mamma's special mention: Entry is cheap - a gold coin donation and the kids are free. Once you have finished your shopping you can access Lillydale Lake if you follow the bridge at the rear of the carpark. Grab the scooters and make a real morning out of it.
