second home, eltham

When you head down Brougham Street you can be forgiven for thinking Mamma has sent you down the wrong street. But rest assured, it's there, beside the panel beaters and car repair workshops, a converted warehouse, originally designed by the local and famous architect Alistair Knox - your new favourite, Second Home. This cafe is SUPER special - huge airy ceilings, roasting fire place with comfy couch and an outdoor courtyard that lends itself to sitting out with the family. There are plenty of little touches too. Rugs and seat cushions to warm your tooshies and some crayons to keep little bottoms on those seats and hands busy! The food and treat cabinet is beyond fab and you can't go past a giant, hand crafted wagon wheel!

Mamma's special mentions: On Mamma's first visit here we met owner Jason M Jones and quickly discovered he has quite the collection of family friendly spots in Melbourne including The Stables Of Como and on the west, Go West
